The Western LOW-PRO and Low Profile Tailgate Spreader lineup offers versatile, high-visibility hitch-mounted de-icing solutions ranging from 3.0 cu ft up to 8.5 cu ft. Engineered with low-slung, high-density poly hoppers, these spreaders preserve driver rear sightlines while resisting weather and impact damage. Featuring 1/3 HP to 1/2 HP 12V electric motors, vertical steel augers, and polyurethane spinners up to 15″, they cast material between 25 and 30 feet. Higher-capacity models include “sawtooth” feed gates for positive shut-off, in-cab variable speed controllers with “blast” mode, standard vibrator kits, and flexible mounting options for receivers, bumpers, or swing-away setups.
